Nelly Bly
Around the World in 72 Days

For one of the projects during my last unit at AUB I did costume designs for a theoretical film about an investigative journalist called Nellie Bly and her trip around the world. In 1889 she traveled around the world in 72 days, to proof that it would be possible to do so in less than 80 days, as the character Phileas Fogg did in Jules Verne's novel, Around the World in Eighty Days.

The storyline of the film is based on Nellie's novel about her trip, but some characters and events are made up.
